
Wangchuk institute for skill enhancing or WISE is the first private hospitality institute in Bhutan to provide a platform of job opportunities in Bhutan for their trainees to turn raw talent into professional abilities. By the completion of the Diploma, students will have a thorough understanding of kitchen management and the tools used by industry professionals to do so.
Students who complete this program will be able to work independently in a kitchen and will be well-prepared to enter the industry and quickly advance to supervisory positions. The training content is based on the Swiss cooks’ occupational competency framework and a job opportunity in Bhutan.
Credits: 60 U.S. credits (20 credits U.S. per term).
The program’s goals are as follows:
1. They produce hot and cold food dishes using a variety of recipes and culinary techniques.
- They display the capacity to work in a kitchen independently and as part of a team, even in demanding situations.
- They consider and act under the wishes of their clients, exhibiting teamwork and adopting an economic and ecological attitude.
4. They understand the principles of workplace health and safety and health and environmental protection.
- Graduates of the Culinary Professional Diploma will be capable of performing the following tasks and will exhibit the following characteristics:
- Foundation culinary certificate
- Intermediate culinary certificate
- Advanced culinary certificate
2. Service Professional

Students will acquire the competencies needed to be fully operational within various restaurant concepts while adhering to the requirements of a first-class restaurant setting through a blended learning strategy. Students will have a thorough understanding of how an F&B institution is managed and the tools required to be successful at the end of the Diploma.
Students are allowed to operate independently in the food and beverage industry. They will be well-prepared to enter the industry and quickly move to a supervisory role. The content of the course is based on the Swiss occupational competency framework for food and beverage professionals.
Credits: 60 U.S. credits (20 credits U.S. per term).
Graduates of the F&B Service Professional Diploma will be skilled in the following activities and will exhibit the following characteristics:
1. As hosts, they plan events following an establishment’s requirements and ensure that the restaurant’s layout is appropriate and the ambiance is welcoming.
2. They create a nice atmosphere and ensure the well-being of their consumers through their personality. They assess their guests’ individual needs and take suitable measures to meet them.
Credits: 60 U.S. credits (20 credits U.S. per term).
3. They provide food and beverage service for daily and special events and advise consumers on appropriate beverages. They make the drinks, present them, and then serve them.
4. They can create bills and collect income using reservation, order, and cash register systems.
5. They are well-versed in the fundamentals of cleanliness and workplace safety. They make certain that the value of buildings, installations, and appliances is kept and that energy and equipment are used efficiently.
3. Rooms Professional

Students will get the skills and information needed to be fully operational in various duties of the Rooms Division department, following the standards of a first-class hotel operation, through this Diploma.
After completing the program, students will be able to operate independently in front-office or housekeeping operations and will be well-prepared to enter the industry and advance to a supervisory position in a short period of time. The course material is benchmarked to the Swiss Vocational Competency Framework.

Graduates of the Rooms Professional Diploma will be skilled in the following activities and will exhibit the following characteristics:

2. They create a nice atmosphere and ensure the well-being of their consumers through their personality. They assess their guests’ individual needs and take suitable measures to meet them.
3. They understand the value of cleanliness, maintenance, laundry work, and organizational responsibilities such as logistics for all back-of-house activities.
4. They know how to operate a property management system successfully. They can make reservations, check-ins, and outs, manage bills, and collect revenue.
5. They are well-versed in the fundamentals of cleanliness and workplace safety. They make certain that the value of buildings, installations, and appliances is kept and that energy and equipment are used efficiently.
Three certificate levels cover the abilities required to work as a Rooms professional: foundation, intermediate, and advanced levels.
4. Hotel Administration

The Diploma program in Hotel Administration is designed to help students get the skills and information they need to be fully operational in a hotel’s many departments, focusing on administrative activities that adhere to first-class hospitality operations standards.
Students who complete this program can operate independently in the Front-Office and Housekeeping Departments and be well-prepared to enter the sector and advance quickly to supervisory positions. The graduate will also be well-suited for an administrative job within a hospitality operation’s management team. The training content is based on the Swiss cooks’ occupational competency framework.
Aims of the Program: Graduates of the Hotel Administration Diploma will be skilled in the following tasks and will exhibit the following characteristics:
