Entry Requirements

We welcome passionate individuals who are ready to embark on an exciting career in the hospitality industry. Our admissions process is designed to be straightforward and accessible.

WISE Programmes

6-Month Certificate
  • Class X pass or equivalent
  • Age: 18 years above
  • Basic English proficiency
  • Valid Bhutanese CID
Applicable to: Culinary, Service, Rooms

Student Background

  • Secondary school graduates with 40% aggregate in individual subject (Class X passed or Class XII passed)
  • Individuals looking to gain skills in the hospitality trade
  • English medium proficiency required

Teaching Modality

The pedagogical philosophy is based on Blended learning and focused on application. The chronology (logic order & sequence) of all content in delivery is respected. Every class follows the delivery standards of Practical 80% and Theory 20%.

Class sizes do not surpass 30 students per session to guarantee maximum learning experience.

All trainers and students have access to learning resources at all times to revise and prepare.

Internship

3 Months Required

The required length of the internship is 3 working months, not including holidays. The internship is carried out immediately following the on-campus training.

Assessment Criteria

  • Internship placement validated
  • Work/internship certificate received
  • 3 working months achieved

Note: Should any of the above criteria be unfulfilled, the internship will result in a 'fail' grade. In case of failure, students will have to retake the entire internship and complete 3 months.

Employment Support

Employment support after training is crucial for trainees to transition smoothly into the workforce. Trainees who graduate from WISE are given opportunities for in-country and overseas placement in the Middle East by connecting the trainees with potential employers through Wangchuk Overseas Employment Agency.
